Land of Lincoln has the following information they wanted to pass along to BASIL Members:

The Illinois Housing Development Authority is currently accepting applications for the IL Homeowner’s Assistance Fund (IL HAF). The deadline is May 31, 2022.

IL HAF is particularly relevant for homeowners in Chapter 13 bk’s that got behind in the mortgage payments or property tax payments b/c of COVID. It does state clearly that bankruptcy debtors are eligible to apply- how they’re going to determine how much is awarded, etc. is less clear. They also require a letter from the Chapter 13 Trustee permitting direct payment to the creditor to be part of the application.
